What is AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds?

AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds is a classifieds ads venue sponsored by the Antique Web Dealer Network at AntiqueWeb.com. It is an internet service that allows sellers to post antiques, collectibles and related items, and buyers to find and buy those items. Registered members can contact each other directly about an item or service, create their own antiques/collectibles store, and offer or accept payments via their own secure PayPal account.

How do I find a particular item on AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds?

Finding items on AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds is easy. You can search for an item simply by typing a keyword into the Search box and clicking "Search." A Search box can be found on most AntiquesWeb.org classifieds pages.

You can also use Advanced Search to search by key word or phrase, item #, seller or buyer User ID, date listed or expired, and by location.

You can also Browse for an item by clicking on the "Categories" links at AntiquesWeb.org. Select a category link to see the items available in that category.

Note: Never transfer money $$ unless you have contacted the Seller about the item's availability, and exchanged and verified contact information. Use your PayPal account for transactions to protect yourself from fraudulent activities. How do I create an account?

Creating an account is simple, fast and free!

1. Click on the Register tab in the AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds header at the top of most classifieds pages.
2. Enter your contact email address and then click continue. Now check your email inbox for a verification email from Antiquesweb Classifieds and follow the link provided in it to complete registration process. The link will return you to the Antiques Web Classifieds Sign-up page
3. Enter the User ID (Handle/Alias) you wish to use at Antiquesweb.org. Then enter the required information on the form. Carefully read the Legal Terms and Terms of Service (TOS). Click Register that you agree to our Terms of Service (TOS) and to sign up.
4. You'll now be returned to the Login page. Enter your User Name and Password and click Sign In. After logging in you can begin contacting sellers and buyers about their classifieds, and posting Classifieds. You can change your account information by clicking on the My Account link found at the bottom of most classifieds pages.

How do I sign in to my account?

Once you have created an account, log in by entering your User Id and Password in the Account Login box on the AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds homepage, or by clicking on POST CLASSIFIED at the top, or LOGIN at the bottom of most classifieds pages.

Access and modification of your account information including Password changes, contact information, ETC. can be gained by clicking on My Account in the links bar at the bottom of most classifieds pages.

Does AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds require that I enter a credit when creating an account?

What are the classifieds optional fees?

You can stand out from other Classifieds by upgrading your listing for as little as 05¢ (USD) with a Featured, Bold or Featured Gallery, ETC option. Paid listings allow you to include outbound links in your ad and store. See our current OPTIONAL LISTING FEES

In order to list your Classifieds with an Optional upgrade you must have an account balance in Antiques Web Classifieds to cover any optional listing fees. All optional listing fees are paid to us through PayPal. You are not required to register at PayPal if you are paying by a major credit card.

You can view your account balance and all your transactions by clicking on My Account at the bottom of most classifieds pages after signing in.

How do I view completed Classifieds for contact information if I was the Buyer or Seller?

Why can't I upload an image?

If you're using a Macintosh, you may currently have difficulty uploading images to the AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds site with browsers such as Safari. Also, make sure your image is either a .jpeg (.jpg) or .gif and does not exceed the 100k size limit. In addition, you can also add pictures to your Item Description if you know how to use HTML

How do I view all my listings listings at once?

You can also view all your listings by going to your store from any of your current listings. You can also view all your listings by using My Account after signing in and then clicking My Classifieds

You can view your account balance by clicking on the My Account link at the bottom of most classifieds pages and then signing in.

How do I change my account information and Password?

You can change your account information such as name, mailing address, and Password by clicking on the My Account link at the bottom of most classifieds pages.

How do I add more pictures to my listing?

You can upload one free picture per free listing. You can easily add up to 9 additional pictures for .05 cents each. You must have a balance in your account to upgrade your listing with more pictures.

What is the Buy Now listing option?

A Buy Now classifieds is where the Seller has listed an item with a direct link for payment to PayPal. To purchase the item immediately, click on the Buy Now link below the classifieds description, and sign in. Note: Never transfer money $$ unless you have contacted the Seller about the item's availability, and exchanged and verified contact information. Use your PayPal account for transactions to protect yourself from fraudulent activities. How do I list an item for classifieds?

It's quick and easy. Make sure you are Registered and then click on Post Classified in the links bar at the top and bottom of most classifieds pages. Enter the item's category and then the item's description and price. If you know HTML you can also use the source view to list your items. Note: If you use HTML, your table or pictures must not exceed a width of 600 pix so that it does not interfere with our advertisers placement ads. Email references and out bound links are prohibited unless it is a paid classified listing.

Do you offer an Online Store for sellers in AntiquesWeb.org?

Yes. It's free for all sellers. You can even customize your Antiques Web Store using HTML if you wish. If you have your own Website and would like to easily sell antiques and collectibles you can link to your Antiques Web Classifieds store from your Website. Note: If you use HTML, your table or pictures must not exceed a width of 600 pix so that it does not interfere with our advertisers placement ads. Email references and out bound links are prohibited unless it is a paid classified listing.

What are Final Value fees? And, why don't you charge them?

Unlike most online Classifieds and Auctions sites, we do not charge a percentage of the final sale price (Final Value Fee) of a listing. Although other Classifieds and Auction sites have always made their $ this way, charging a listing fee and as much as a 20% commission after the sale is excessive and unnecessary.

Why are you offering Free classified listings for sellers?

The Antique Web Dealer Network hopes that you'll spread the word about our Website, AntiqueWeb.com and our Antiques Classifieds at AntiquesWeb.org!

My listing was removed from your classified listings. Why?

Without notice, any posted item can be removed from our classifieds for listing in the wrong category, keyword or category spamming, illegal or questionable items, non antique and collectible listings, outbound links in your free listing, or any other reason that we determine may be violating out Terms of Service.

I can no longer Buy or List. Have I been suspended from AntiqueWeb Classifieds?

If you can no longer list your items with optional upgrades then it may be that your account balance is below .05¢, the minimum required to post using upgraded classifieds.

If you can no longer buy or list then we may have suspended your account for violation of our Terms of Service. For more information contact the Administrator.

How do I add $ to my classifieds account?

Click on the My Account link bar at the bottom of most classifieds pages and sign in. You can add $ to your account balance through your secure PayPal account.

How do I report a classifieds listing, or a Buyer or Seller for violating the TOS?

Will you be adding more listing categories?

As demand and traffic increases we will add categories and sub categories. You can request a new category or sub category by contacting our Administrator.

I would like to advertise my business in AntiquesWeb.org. Who do I contact?

You can advertise in AntiquesWeb.org by contacting our advertising department through our Administrator form and requesting additional information.

If you want to advertise your Store and listings on the AntiquesWeb.org Classifieds Home Page as a Premium Store contact our Administrator for our current monthly rate!

Can I add HTML to my item description?

Many sellers use HTML in their Item Description to make their classifieds ad look more professional. All you need is an HTML editor. Note: If you use HTML, your table or pictures must not exceed a width of 600 pix so that it does not interfere with our advertisers placement ads. Email references and out bound links are prohibited unless it is a paid classified listing.

I made a mistake in my listing.. What can I do to fix it?

You can edit your listings from your Members page, or you can re-list your item.

I need to end my classifieds listing early. How can I do it?

Sign-in and delete the listing from your My Classifieds page.

The Buyer or Seller doesn't answer my emails to complete the sale. Now what?

If the Buyer or Seller has not answered your repeated emails so that the sale cannot be completed within 5 days, then contact the Administrator about the issue. Keep in mind, there are situations where contact could not be made because of email issues. 
 

How many days do I have before I must contact the Buyer or Seller to complete the sale?

You should always try to contact the Buyer or Seller to complete the sale as soon as the classifieds ends. The Antique Web Classifieds User Agreement requires that you contact each other within 5 days to complete the sale.

How can I view all my favorite Classified listings?

Go to My Account in the links bar at the top and bottom of most classifieds pages and sign in. The Classifieds you are currently interested in will be listed.
